Robert Douglas Hartmann aka Doug Hartmann (April 7, 1962-present) is an American con man, white collar criminal, & felon.
A native of O'Fallon, Missouri, he is the principal of multiple legal entities including Doug Hartmann Productions, LLC & DHP Investments, LLC, which were involved in a massive real estate mortgage investment ponzi scheme.
Hartmann was ultimately prosecuted by the United States Department of Justice & convicted in 2009 of mail fraud and bank fraud.
Hartmann's early professional career was characterized by his brief foray as a failed boxing promoter in St. Louis, Missouri.
Hartmann organized the boxing event "Ringside at the Regal," held at the St Louis Regal Riverfront Hotel & broadcast on cable tv.
During the January 29, 1999 spectacle, boxer Fernando Ibarra suffered brain damage from a knockout blow & subsequent deficit of prompt medical attention.
In the lawsuit "Maldonado v Gateway Hotel Holdings" Ibarra was awarded a $13.7 million judgment, but Hartmann was dropped as a defendant due to his apparent indigent status.
