Via Paolo Sarpi is a street in Milan, Italy, famous for its abundant Chinese-Italian immigrant population, and is commonly given the nickname Milan Chinatown or in Italian Quartiere cinese milanese.
It is one of the longest streets in the city, and is named after the well-known Italian academic Paolo Sarpi.
Since the early 1900s, notably the 1930s and even more so in the 1950s and 60s, Via Paolo Sarpi received strong immigration from China, and many Chinese people began to settle in the street.
Despite this, Via Paolo Sarpi's Chinese immigrant population became mass-scale only during the 1980s, when several more foreign people settled in the street.
The street was famous for its numerous silk tie stores, usually designed in a European style, but often with Sino designs too.
